Two strong partners: Your school and thyssenkrupp Steel Europe

thyssenkrupp Steel Europe cooperates with many partner schools at its production locations and their close vicinity. In several modules, school students are given the opportunity to gain fascinating insights.

Plant visits
Have you ever watched how steel is tapped, or seen from close up the glowing, hissing steel blocks – also called slabs – in a high-tech rolling mill? During our plant visit, which are attuned to the topics taught in class in consultation with your teachers, you can take a glimpse at what work in our company is like. Close up. Participants in such plant visits must be 16 or over.

Assistance in career choice
What career is the right one for me, and what is the best way to apply? Answers to these and other questions are given by the thyssenkrupp Steel Europe experts in kind of “spiral curriculum“ at the end of the 8th or the beginning of the 9th form. In form 10 and 11, we invite you to come to our company to meet experts and talk with them about apprenticeships and studies. And in the final year, you can take part in simulated placement tests and job interviews. This is an excellent preparation for your career start!

Internships
You are interested in a specific profession? An internship of 2-3 weeks is a good opportunity to get a taste of it and find out whether it is really the job of your dreams.

Experts in the classroom
At school you learn a lot of theoretical things – that is why our experts go into our partner schools and report on selected subjects attuned to the topics taught at school. Your questions are welcome, of course, to learn as much as possible about practical work from insiders.

Teacher workshops
Teachers can benefit from these partnerships too: Various events offer you the opportunity to exchange ideas with other teachers and representatives of our company, and take a look at practical work in a company.
Subjects range from “EFQM in the classroom“down to “Ability to work in a team at school“.
